Peter Figman is an associate at Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP and practices in the areas of construction, commercial and real estate litigation and arbitration. Peter works with property owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors, private equity funds, design professionals, sureties, cooperatives and condominiums, and other businesses as well as individuals in a broad range of legal issues.
Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida, and his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, where he obtained an additional Certificate in Real Estate Practice. While in law school, Peter worked as an intern at Brooklyn Law School’s Corporate Real Estate Clinic, assisting low-income cooperative boards in obtaining and closing mortgage loans. He also held several internship positions throughout the real estate sector doing various contractual and litigation work for both residential and commercial real estate firms. He is a member of the Bar of the New York State.
Prior to joining Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP, Peter worked as an Agency Attorney for the New York City Department of Buildings in the Administrative Enforcement Unit. Peter appeared daily on behalf of the Department at OATH hearings, prosecuting civil summonses regarding violations of the New York City Building Code, Administrative Code, Electric Code and Zoning Resolutions in an effort to ensure safety compliance.
